| Same city, same price : Certaines chaînes de magasins et de restaurants s'engagent à pratiquer une tarification identique dans les deux aéroport de Shanghai et à Disneytown que dans leurs boutiques et restaurants situés en ville. - Citation :
- Outlets at Shanghai airports, Disneyland move to fair pricing
MORE than 60 chain stores and restaurants in Shanghai's two airports and Disneyland on Wednesday vowed to keep prices on par with those in their other outlets in the city, following pressure from Shanghai's price regulator.
The Shanghai Development and Reform Commission said that it had received a great deal of consumer complaints that dining in these areas were often much more expensive than other places.
Under pressure from the commission, the outlets, owned by more than 20 international food chains and convenient stores, including Costa, KFC, McDonald's, Subway, Pacific Coffee and Family Mart, in the Pudong and Hongqiao international airports and Shanghai Disney Resort, joined together in a campaign named "same city, same price."
Wednesday coincides with World Consumer Rights Day, when China launches its annual campaign to raise attention for consumers rights.
The Shanghai commission said that it would continue to play a leading role in protecting consumer rights, inviting the public and companies to get involved.
The commission also urged big shopping malls, including building material and furniture wholesale stores B&Q and IKEA, to be wary of cheating on price, requiring the firms to repay and compensate consumers when they pay more than the prices promoted at the stores.

- Shanghai Disney Resort New Ambassador Team and Disney VoluntEARS Create Imagination Playground for Families in Pudong
Making a positive impact on the community where we live, work and play, the new Shanghai Disney Resort Ambassador Team joined the Disney VoluntEARS to create the Imagination Playground Family Play Activity at local primary schools in Shanghai’s Pudong District. Through this program, the resort VoluntEARS aim to inspire the children’s imagination while also encouraging families to get outside in the spring season and spend quality time together.
With support from local non-profit organization “Right To Play China”, Shanghai Disney Resort VoluntEARS, led by the resort’s new Ambassador Team will pay regular visits to local schools to build and create endless shapes and stories together with the young children and their families using big sponge blocks.
“It is our great pleasure to be part of the Disney VoluntEARS to create the Disney magic and happiness for not only our guests at Shanghai Disney Resort, but also families living in our communities,” said Chloe Zhou, one of the two recently named Ambassadors at Shanghai Disney Resort.
“We look forward to bringing more creative and engaging activities to the communities to continuously inspire the younger generation, while also to encourage young parents to spend more time with their children,” added Natalie Yao, another member of Shanghai Disney Resort’s Ambassador Team.
The new Shanghai Disney Resort Ambassador Team, recently selected from the over 10,000 Cast Members in the resort, will serve a two-year term from 2017 to 2018, during which the team will represent Cast Members of Shanghai Disney Resort and spread goodwill in the community. They will also continue to lead Disney VoluntEARS programs to present the resort’s commitment to local communities.
The prestigious Disney Ambassador role dates back to 1964, when Walt Disney sought a representative for the 10th Anniversary of Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California. The legendary program continued to evolve in the last 50 years and has been introduced to Disney destinations around the world. Each Disney destination selects their own Disney Ambassadors from their Cast to serve as the emissary of goodwill, sharing the magic, inspiration, and optimism of Disney. The tradition has been introduced to Shanghai Disney Resort two years ago with its first Ambassador, Jennie Xu, being introduced in early 2015.

Shanghai Disney Resort Launches Earth Month Celebration to Inspire the Spirit of Conservation Broadway Musical THE LION KING to Present a Special Charity Show to Promote Awareness of Wild Animal Protection
In the lead up to Earth Day on April 22, Shanghai Disney Resort will kick off “Celebrate Earth”, a series of exciting environmental-themed activities at the newest Disney destination to celebrate Earth Month with guests and Cast. As a highlight of this year’s celebration, the resort will launch the Join the Herd Wildlife Conservation Campaign on April 20 in partnership with WildAid, an environmental non-profit organization, and the China Wildlife Conservation Association, to promote public awareness of the protection of elephants and other endangered wild animals, and the eradication of the commercial trade in ivory.
On April 20, THE LION KING, which recently celebrated its 300th performance at Walt Disney Grand Theatre, will present a special charity performance with a red carpet arrival before the show. Guests will be able to experience The Circle of Life together with Jiang Jinfu, celebrity ambassador of WildAid. Guests of this special show will also have the opportunity to join a lucky-draw to win round-trip flight tickets from Shanghai to Xishuangbanna in Yunnan Province, sponsored by China Eastern Airline, where they can observe Asian elephants in the wild. To support this meaningful conservation effort, a percentage of proceeds from ticket sales from this show will be donated to the China Wildlife Conservation Association to support wildlife protection in China. Disney has a long history of supporting elephant conservation through the Disney Conservation Fund and has contributed more than 2.3 million USD to projects in 25 countries across Asia and Africa.
Since its early development stage, the resort has been rolling out Earth Month celebrations with Cast and community members through Disney VoluntEARS and many other Cast activities, encouraging everyone to make small changes to protect the environment and get connected with the nature. This April marks the first Earth Month celebration at the resort after opening, and a series of “Celebrate Earth” activities will be organized for Cast, community, and for the first time, Shanghai Disney Resort guests. In addition to THE LION KING charity show, beginning April 20, the resort will host the “Celebrate Earth” fair in both Disneytown and Shanghai Disneyland and run environmentally-friendly themed games for children, to promote conservation values among the young generation and their families.
“Disney’s commitment to nature spans more than six decades, and the Disney Earth Month celebration each April has become an annual tradition that brings Cast, guests and the community members together to positively impact the planet,” said Philippe Gas, general manager of Shanghai Disney Resort. “We are excited to launch the ‘Join the Herd’ campaign this year in partnership with two key organizations to bring awareness to conservation efforts by leveraging Disney resources to inspire real action from our guests, Cast and the community to preserve the beauty of the earth together.”
“Public action is vital to protecting wildlife. Since its inception, China Wildlife Conservation Association has been devoted to ensuring sustainable wildlife conservation in China. Through events like Bird-Loving Week, Wildlife Conservation Week and other educational programs, we aim to raise public awareness on endangered wildlife species. Partnering with Shanghai Disney Resort, we are hoping to promote more engagement to drive a greater awareness among the general public,” said Li Qingwen, general secretary of China Wildlife Conservation Association.
“The illegal trade and global demand for ivory are seriously threatening the survival of elephants. Public awareness and inspiration are key to ending this trade and protecting elephants. We hope that through our partnership with Shanghai Disney Resort, those who have the chance to attend THE LION KING musical and visit the Celebrate Earth - Join the Herd Exhibition will not only enjoy the magnificent show but also be inspired to take action in protecting wildlife,” added Peter Knights, CEO of WildAid.
In its 19th year, THE LION KING remains ascendant as one of the most popular stage musicals in the world. Since its Broadway premiere in 1997, 24 global productions have been seen by more than 85 million people. Having played on every continent except Antarctica, THE LION KING’s worldwide gross exceeds that of any film, Broadway show or other entertainment title in box office history. The first-ever Mandarin production has been running exclusively at the Walt Disney Grand Theatre in Disneytown since its premiere on June 14, 2016. THE LION KING uses dynamic choreography, intricately designed masks and puppets, to transport the audience to the sprawling African Pride Lands full of gazelle, zebra, elephants, and excitement. From April 20 to May 7, a Join the Herd Wildlife Photography Exhibition will be open to the public in the lobby of the Walt Disney Grand Theater. More than 20 wildlife photographs, along with short films produced by WildAid, will be showcased to help guests better understand the natural habitat of the animals which inspired the characters in THE LION KING. An ivory free pledge wall will also be installed for guests to show their support for the campaign.

Xiao Tui, the magical recycle bin, makes its premiere at Shanghai Disneyland, “talking” to guests about environmental protection
In celebration of this year’s Earth Day on April 22, and as part of Disney’s Earth Month initiative, Shanghai Disney Resort is running a series of conservation-themed activities to promote environmental protection among its guests, Cast Members and in the local community. From today through May 1, guests visiting the resort can discover “Celebrate Earth” activities in both the resort’s theme park, Shanghai Disneyland, and its shopping, dining and entertainment area, Disneytown. Different fun and engaging environmental activities, under the six unique themes – “protect nature,” “reduce waste,” “use water responsibly,” “conserve fuel,” “conserve electricity,” and “use paper responsibility” – are designed for children and their parents to cultivate conservation awareness and actions.
As a highlight of this year’s Earth Month celebration at Shanghai Disney Resort, “Xiao Tui”, the magical recycle bin, made its premiere at Shanghai Disneyland to talk about conservation with guests and encourage everyone to take actions, including how they can make small changes in their lives to help protect the environment and also how to get connected with nature. Through “talking” about the environment and sharing tips with guests, the surprise appearance of Xiao Tui at the theme park’s Fantasyland attracted guests of all ages and is quickly becoming a new popular and educational entertainment experience at the resort. Every year in April, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts celebrates “Earth Month” by hosting special events and activities throughout the month to inspire and motivate guests, Cast, and community members to learn more about how each of us can help protect the planet we share together. From its early development stage, Shanghai Disney Resort has embraced this Disney tradition by hosting Earth Month celebrations with Cast and community members through Disney VoluntEARS events and many other Cast activities. This year’s Shanghai Disney Resort Earth Month is being celebrated for the first time together with guests in Shanghai.

New Merchandise Shops Give Travelers a Taste of the Resort’s Immersive, Interactive Retail Offerings
Shanghai Disney Resort opened two new stores at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to delight travelers of all ages. The shops are an extension of the resort’s vast retail offerings with authentic Disney ambiance and diverse merchandise that help travelers create tangible memories and find timeless Disney keepsakes. To celebrate the grand openings, representatives from Shanghai Disney Resort, together with executives from the Hongqiao Airport, conducted an official ribbon cutting ceremony this morning. Mickey Mouse also made a surprise appearance to help commemorate the big moment.
“Shopping at Shanghai Disney Resort includes not only the memorable items guests can bring home with them, but also immersive Disney retail experiences unlike anywhere else in China,” said Philippe Gas, General Manager of Shanghai Disney Resort. “Today marks a major milestone as we expand those unique offerings outside our resort, with two new stores featuring exclusive Disney Parks merchandise and entertainment for travelers coming to and from the great city of Shanghai.”
Conveniently located outside of Gates 47 and 55 in the domestic departure Terminal Two of Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, both shops provide more than 400 products ranging from toys to home decor, souvenirs, accessories, foods to be gifted, costumes and apparel. The merchandise features a variety of Disney and Disney•Pixar popular characters and stories, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Cars, Frozen, Marvel, Toy Story, Disney Princess and more, plus exclusive Shanghai Disney Resort attraction-themed collections such as TRON and Pirates of the Caribbean. For a limited time, shoppers will also find special anniversary items on offer in celebration of the resort’s first year of operation in Shanghai. With the diverse merchandise selection, guests can now find the perfect last minute gift before their flight takes off.
Like all merchandise locations at Shanghai Disney Resort, these new stores were carefully designed to be entertaining and engaging, bringing something fresh and interactive for guests in a way that only Disney can. The stores bring to life the same kind of innovation and creativity that visitors see inside Shanghai Disneyland. The unique oval layout features bold Disney designs with Chinese-inspired motifs. The themed areas showcase popular Disney hits and make browsing the displays both fun and convenient for visitors.
Once inside the store, guests are not only attracted by the wide variety of merchandise offerings, but they also become immersed in the animated world of Disney as LED screens play four brand-new Disney animations developed for and shown exclusively at the new shops. As part of the immersive storytelling, guests can take part in a Disney castle-inspired fireworks game that elevates the shopping experience beyond guests’ imaginations. The castle game is an interactive experience where guests use body motion to trigger fireworks on the screen, lighting up the sky and revealing the castle. Disney music fills the air as the game progresses, and the game becomes more challenging the further the player proceeds, making it a fun activity for shoppers of all ages.
During the opening period, guests can enjoy a host of special offers, including limited-time discounts on Mickey and Minnie Mouse plush toys and free stickers for guests who participate in the interactive games. China Eastern Airline passengers and cardholders can enjoy additional special benefits and discounts at both locations.

- Shanghai Disney Resort Celebrates International Children’s Day by Introducing Disney Wish Program to Mainland China
The establishment of Make-A-Wish® Shanghai was celebrated at Shanghai Disneyland earlier today
Today, in honor of International Children’s Day, Shanghai Disney Resort officially introduced the Disney Wish Program, through which the resort will be in collaboration with registered children’s charity organizations to support children with life-threatening medical conditions in mainland China, helping to make life-changing wishes come true for children when they need it most. The resort also celebrated the official establishment of Make-A-Wish Shanghai with a ceremony hosted earlier this morning in front of Enchanted Storybook Castle at Shanghai Disneyland. Leadership from Shanghai Disney Resort and Make-A-Wish Shanghai, representatives from local non-profit organizations and communities, as well as Shanghai Disney Resort VoluntEARS joined in the celebration. Beloved Disney characters Mickey and Minnie also made a special appearance to commemorate the occasion with all guests. “Disney has a long history creating magic for children and their families and it is our great pleasure to introduce the Disney Wish Program to Shanghai, which aims to bring hope and happiness to children in China with life-threatening medical conditions,” said Philippe Gas, general manager of Shanghai Disney Resort. “Disney shares the same spirit with Make-A-Wish of helping spread joy to children when they need it most, and this is the reason why we have supported the establishment of Make-A-Wish in Shanghai, which we will continue to work closely with to help make transformational wishes come true.”
Make-A-Wish is a globally-known network of non-profit organizations specializing in granting transformational wish experiences to children with critical illnesses. In the fight against a serious illness, each wish serves as a catalyst for renewed strength and encouragement for every child, family, and community involved in the journey. The cooperation between Disney and Make-A-Wish dates back to 1981 when the then-newly launched Make-A-Wish organization decided to grant its first official wish to a child, whose wish was to visit Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Since then, more than 100,000 Disney wishes have been granted around the world, with over 9,000 granted every year – including experiences at Disney theme parks, voyages on Disney Cruise Line, meetings with Disney characters, and visits to TV and movie sets – making Disney the most popular request by Make-A-Wish children, and accounting for one of every two wishes granted worldwide. Since June 2016 when the newest Disney resort opened in Shanghai, millions of children and their families have visited. The new resort is inheriting the Disney spirit of supporting local communities by carrying out a variety of community caring programs, often partnering with Chinese community partners. To celebrate and support the establishment of Make-A-Wish Shanghai, the resort is proud to introduce the Disney Wish Program in Shanghai, aiming to inspire more children in China, making their wishes come true.

- Shanghai Disney Resort Delivers Safety Education to Students at Every Elementary School in Shanghai
Through fun and educational storytelling, Disney-themed animated educational films help raise safety awareness to local students
Starting this academic year, students in Shanghai local elementary schools will all have the opportunity to learn essential safety education through the Disney Wild About Safety - Safety Smart® film series. This series engages and educates children with loveable Disney characters and unique Disney storytelling. During the Shanghai 2017 Academic Year Safety Education Week’s Kick-off Ceremony held at Xuhui District Qiuzhi Elementary School, Shanghai Disney Resort donated nearly 1,000 sets of Disney Wild About Safety - Safety Smart® film series DVDs and interactive materials, developed by Disney Publishing Worldwide, to the Shanghai Education Bureau, which will be delivered to all elementary schools and 16 local Education Bureaus in Shanghai. These materials will assist elementary school teachers to deliver useful knowledge concerning fire, water and transportation safety to students across Shanghai. “At Shanghai Disney Resort, safety is at the heart of everything we do and we appreciate the opportunity to share the importance of safety to children at all of the elementary schools across Shanghai,” said Philippe Gas, general manager of Shanghai Disney Resort. “Our donation of the Disney Wild About Safety education packages will help deliver important and practical safety knowledge to children through our loveable characters and authentic Disney storytelling.” Following the donation in the morning, Disney VoluntEARS, led by the Shanghai Disney Resort Ambassador Team, brought the “Disney Wild About Safety – Safety Smart On the Go!” to Jingan District Zhabei No.3 Central Elementary School, which marked the first time the resort team has brought transportation safety education to local school students. Through a screening of the animated educational video and engaging and informative games and activities, students were able to learn critical safety knowledge for different means of transportation. Each student received a “Disney’s Wild About Safety – Safety Smart On the Go!” certificate after the activity to recognize their new learnings about transportation safety. As a highlight of the event, the beloved Disney character Timon from the hit Disney animated film, THE LION KING, who also plays the leading role in the Disney Wild About Safety - Safety Smart® series film, made a surprise appearance at the school to meet the students. The Disney Wild About Safety education package donated today consists of three safety topics that are essential for children, which are “Disney Wild About Safety – Safety Smart® About Fire”, “Disney Wild About Safety – Safety Smart® In the Water!”, and “Disney Wild About Safety – Safety Smart® On the Go!”. Since 2012, Shanghai Disney Resort has been introducing the Disney Wild About Safety program to local communities, engaging and inspiring students’ safety skills and knowledge. The program, developed in cooperation with Underwriters Laboratories Inc. and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, was first introduced to the city’s Pudong District, where the resort was located, and is now covering all elementary schools in Shanghai, helping more children in the city to develop safety awareness in a fun and engaging way.

- Make-A-Wish Shanghai Grants Its Very First Wish at Shanghai Disney Resort
Elsa and her friend Olaf make a seven-year-old boy’s dream come true
Following the successful launch of Disney Wish Program on Children’s Day this year, Shanghai Disney Resort recently supported the very first wish granting from Make-A-Wish® Shanghai, hosting a seven-year-old boy and his family from China’s Anhui Province at Shanghai Disneyland and making his wish to meet Olaf from the hit Disney animated film Frozen come true.
This also marks the first official wish granted by the Disney Wish Program at Shanghai Disney Resort, launched earlier this year and designed to support children with life-threatening medical conditions in mainland China, helping to make life-changing wishes come true and bring hope, magic, and joy to children when they need it most.
“Disney’s history of wish granting began when Walt Disney opened Disneyland Park and hosted children from around the world, and we are pleased to bring this legacy to Shanghai,” said Philippe Gas, general manager of Shanghai Disney Resort. “We are proud to play a role in bringing smiles and laughter to wish children and their families, and will continue to work closely with approved nonprofit wish-granting organizations to help make transformational wishes come true.”
The first wish child, Yuanbao, currently undergoing treatment for tumor, had a dream to go to Shanghai Disneyland with his family, and meet his favorite Disney character Olaf from Disney’s hit animated film, Frozen. At the Royal Banquet Hall in the Enchanted Storybook Castle, Olaf together with his best friend Elsa, made a surprise appearance and greeted Yuanbao in person, making his magical dream finally came true. Together with his family, Yuanbao went on to spend several fun-filled hours at the theme park – sharing magical moments with Olaf and Elsa, riding Dumbo with Mickey Mouse, being the parade Grand Marshall with his parents, and receiving warm welcomes from all Cast Members from the resort.
“This first wish in Shanghai marks a great milestone for us and we are grateful to celebrate this milestone with such a dedicated friend, Shanghai Disney Resort,” said Jerry Huang, Chairman of Shanghai Make-A-Wish Charity Foundation. “We look forward to working together with Shanghai Disney Resort and community partners to continue to help inspire children in China to overcome challenges and believe that anything is possible.”
The Disney Wish Program is a collaboration between Disney and approved nonprofit wish-granting organizations that make wishes come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions. Over 9,000 Disney wishes are granted every year around the world with Make-A-Wish —including experiences at Disney Parks, voyages on Disney Cruise Line, character visits, Disney Store shopping sprees and visits to TV and movie sets.
Introduced to Shanghai on Children’s Day this year, Shanghai Disney Resort will work closely with local wish-granting organizations like Make-A-Wish Shanghai to lend our support and help families make lasting memories together, bringing comfort and smiles to wish children and families when they need it most.

- Citation :
- Shanghai Disney Resort Honored with China’s Highest Construction Industry Award
Resort’s outstanding engineering quality recognized by China Construction Engineering Luban Prize
Since the grand opening last year, millions of guests from home and abroad have already enjoyed the world-class attractions at Shanghai Disney Resort, and appreciated the immersive environment that the resort has created. In recognition of its outstanding engineering, exquisite project design and planning, its superior construction technology, its goal to provide a magical and seamless experience for Chinese guests, Shanghai Disney Resort was awarded the 2016-2017 China Construction Engineering Luban Prize, the highest honor for engineering quality in China’s construction industry. "Our goal from day one was to create an authentically Disney, distinctly Chinese destination for the people of China,” said Howard Brown, general manager and regional executive, Walt Disney Imagineering Asia. “Over the course of five years, Disney Imagineers led more than 100,000 construction workers, engineers, artisans and other professionals from across China and around the world to build a magical, immersive entertainment experience that only Disney can deliver, creating a world-class resort that marked a key milestone in the development of Shanghai’s tourism industry.” Throughout the construction stage from 2011 to 2016, the Walt Disney Imagineering Shanghai team worked collaboratively with Chinese contactors to bring new design and construction techniques to the design and construction of this world-class destination. The Disney team worked with a group of leading Chinese construction general contractors to manage each discipline and phase of resort construction, creating a unique partnership of Disney global standards with local expertise and resources. As part of this collaboration, the Disney team introduced new skills and practice techniques to the construction industry to foster local expertise in leading global construction standards and practices. In addition to its rigorous construction quality standards, Shanghai Disney Resort also integrated innovative technologies and green concepts throughout the entire project. The novel application of building information modeling (BIM) and digital immersive showroom (DISH) technology in the project’s development stage, as well as the adoption of environmentally friendly and energy-efficient technologies across the planning and construction processes, demonstrate Shanghai Disney Resort's leading standards and industry advancements in China and around the world. The China Construction Engineering Luban Prize is known as the "Oscars" for the construction industry in China. Jointly created 30 years ago by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the China Construction Industry Association, this prize has become the most coveted honor in the industry. The Luban Prize has rigorous application, evaluation and screening processes, and ultimately the winners represent an elite selection among similar construction projects from across the entire country. The construction and development of Shanghai Disney Resort has been recognized with multiple awards and honors in addition to the China Construction Engineering Luban Prize, including the Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP) Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for the successful adoption of BIM, and Three-Star and Two-Star awards, respectively, for the Team Disney Building and the Toy Story Hotel from the Green Building Evaluation Label (GBEL). About Building Information Modeling (BIM) Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a digital representation of the physical and functional characteristics of a facility, a tool that uses a real-time testing and feedback cycle that helped Disney teams meet the unique challenges in realizing highly complex structures and attractions. BIM technology was used for Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure and Enchanted Storybook Castle, as two examples. Recognizing these efforts, the American Institute of Architects presented its prestigious Technology in Architectural Practice Award to the team for its use of BIM in the creation of Enchanted Storybook Castle. About the Digital Immersive Showroom (DISH) The Digital Immersive Showroom (DISH) is an immersive design tool used by Disney Imagineers when pre-visualizing a new theme park, land, attraction or other physical location. Using a head-mounted motion capture device to track a user's location along with 3D stereo glasses, an Imagineer is able to walk through a computer simulation of a space and see a particular area from all angles. The DISH is linked between project sites such as the Walt Disney Imagineering campus in California and the Walt Disney Imagineering Shanghai team office so that designers can virtually review and ride an attraction before ground is broken. This saves valuable time and resources during construction. The DISH uses high-end, real time graphics computers, 3D stereoscopic projection, and an optical motion capture system. Shanghai Disneyland projects that utilized the DISH include Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure, Enchanted Storybook Castle and Buzz Lightyear Planet Rescue.
