Today, Shanghai Disney Resort and Energy Monster, one of China’s leading power bank rental service providers, announced that the two companies had entered into a multi-year resort alliance, introducing Energy Monster as the first and exclusive Official Power Bank Rental Service Sponsor of Shanghai Disney Resort. With the new alliance, Energy Monster will install more than 10 power bank rental stations across the resort, including the theme park – Shanghai Disneyland, and the resort’s themed hotels. Rental stations are in easy-to-find locations, with simple and user-friendly instructions available on the stations themselves, allowing guests to take full advantage of the digital services provided by the resort during their visit. These stations are designed to adapt and be a part of the unique themes at each location, including Barbossa’s Bounty in Treasure Cove, Pinocchio Village Kitchen in Fantasyland and Stargazer Grill in Tomorrowland, immersing guests in authentic Disney storytelling.

Shanghai Disney Resort Launches Third Disney Imaginations Shanghai Design Competition

With numerous participants from earlier competitions now enjoying full-time employment and internships at Shanghai Disney Resort, it was with great excitement that the resort announced the launch of the third Disney Imaginations Shanghai design competition. Welcoming university and college students from a wide range of disciplines to showcase their design prowess, creativity and imagination, the Disney Imaginations Shanghai design competition will once again offer participants the chance to win a series of prizes and awards aimed at nurturing their future careers.

Organized by Shanghai Disney Resort with participation from Walt Disney Imagineering Shanghai, the annual Disney Imaginations Shanghai design competition encourages and empowers local talent and is a unique opportunity for students from diverse backgrounds to showcase their skills, ideas and creativity. The winners of the 2021 Disney Imaginations Shanghai design competition will be invited to intern at Shanghai Disney Resort, receive a cash award, and experience a once in a lifetime trip to the Walt Disney Imagineering Shanghai campus to learn first-hand from some of the best in the industry. The second and third place teams will also receive cash awards and the chance to interview for internships at Shanghai Disney Resort.

The 2021 Disney Imaginations Shanghai design competition is set to launch with a series of new online roadshows starting November 19. During the roadshows, participants from ten universities from Shanghai and Zhejiang will be introduced to the new project challenge and the magical world of Imagineering by representatives from Walt Disney Imagineering Shanghai. Successful applicants will then form interdisciplinary teams to deliver a concept for fictional and hypothetical guest experiences - echoing how Walt Disney Imagineers design immersive and fantastical experiences for Disney parks across the globe.

Teams can register via the Disney Imaginations Shanghai website starting November 19, and will submit entries from December 11, 2020 through January 25, 2021. All submitted entries will be evaluated, and finalists will be announced in March 2021. Finalists will present their designs to a panel of experienced judges. Their designs can use any materials they wish to enhance their presentation, including mock-ups, 3D plans, videos and more.

The competing students will be selected from the following universities: Shanghai Jiaotong University, Tongji University, East China Normal University, East China University of Science and Technology, Donghua University, Shanghai University, Shanghai Theatre Academy, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts and China Academy of Art.

Disney Imaginations Shanghai was launched by Shanghai Disney Resort in 2018, with the purpose of seeking out and nurturing the next generation of diverse Imagineers. The competition is committed to bringing Disney’s creative practices to local industries and to cultivating young talent in China, and was inspired by the Disney Imaginations design competition, designed, created and sponsored by Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) in the United States in 1991. Since its inception, Disney Imaginations Shanghai has attracted hundreds of university students to participate in the competition, and many of the finalists from the previous two events have been offered internship opportunities at Shanghai Disney Resort, many even going on to become official Cast Members or Imagineers at the resort.

Le passeport annuel Crystal vient compléter la gamme des Pass Annuel Gold (256 jours d'accès) et Diamond (365 jours d'accès). Il "remplace" le Pass Annuel Silver (45 jours d'accès) qui désormais n'est plus en vente.

Côté historique, la création des passeports annuel ne remonte qu'au mois de janvier 2019 avec 3 types de passeports (Anyday Annual Pass, Weekday + Sunday Annual Pass, Sunday Annual Pass) renommé le 26 novembre 2019 en Diamond, Gold et Silver.

Le nouveau Crystal Annual Pass garde les même avantages que le Silver (entre autres 20% sur les restaurants et les boutiques), cependant, il aura également le droit à 256 jours d'accès avec exactement les mêmes jours de restrictions que le Gold. La nuance est que ce passeport annuel sera à réservation obligatoire (même après la période Covid-19) avec un quota propre à ce PA.

Ce système s'inspire du Pass Annuel Disney Flex (Disneyland Resort) qui nécessite également une réservation internet sur certains jours d'accès.

Shanghai Disney Resort and SKECHERS jointly announced today that the two brands had entered into a multi-year resort alliance, seeing the leading sports brand become an official participant of the resort. As part of the new alliance, SKECHERS will enjoy multiple brand presences across a number of events and locations at Shanghai Disney Resort, including at Shanghai Disneyland’s most anticipated expansion project to date – the upcoming Zootopia-themed land, where their animal-inspired branding “SHI-KECHERS” will premiere. The all-new SHI-KECHERS logo, featuring a lion’s tail and mane in keeping with the theming of the new land, was also unveiled today, having been specially designed for SKECHERS by the Walt Disney Imagineering Shanghai team.

“Disney is well-known for its creativity and storytelling, two points that are clearly reflected in every aspect of our guest experience, including in the offerings we jointly develop with our alliance partners,” said Joe Schott, President and General Manager, Shanghai Disney Resort. “We are excited to expand upon our well-established alliance with SKECHERS, through which, we will continue to promote healthy lifestyles among our guests, while also delivering even more innovative and immersive experiences - especially with the debut of the SHI-KECHERS brand appearing in the Zootopia-themed land when it opens.”

The resort alliance between Shanghai Disney Resort and SKECHERS has grown and developed from SKECHERS’ participation in the Disney Inspiration Run – a family-friendly running event held at the resort since 2018. The new alliance will continue to see SKECHERS involved as the presenting participant for one of the Disney Inspiration Run events each year during the alliance period, promoting healthy lifestyles and providing high-quality themed sports apparel for all runners.

The Year of the Ox is coming, and from January 19 through February 26, the resort is hosting a resort-wide celebration to welcome the Lunar New Year! The resort will be filled with special Chinese traditional festive games, sounds and tastes combined with special touches of Disney magic, sure to remind guests from near and far of the rich traditions and customs of a hometown Chinese Spring Festival.



Traditional Decorations and Shows Usher in a Festival of Happiness

Throughout the entire Spring Festival season, the resort will be decorated with magnificent holiday décor, iconic Chinese symbols and a splash of magical Disney touches that are sure to bring joy to guests of all ages. Mickey Mouse and his pals, including Duffy and Friends, will be dressed up in their new holiday outfits, adorned with festive elements to offer their warmest wishes to everyone visiting during the festive period, and “God of Fortune” Goofy will once again bring extra luck and excitement to the celebrations as he dons his traditional costume to welcome guests on Mickey Avenue.

Celebrate International Women’s Day with Unforgettable Experiences and a New Friend!

As the chill of winter melts away and birds begin to migrate back to Shanghai, starting March 1, guests will be able to meet Kevin, the exotic chocolate-loving bird from the beloved Disney and Pixar film, “Up”, as she makes her debut in Asia at Shanghai Disney Resort. The feathery friend is a strong, independent mother who loves exploring, and guests will be able to catch a glimpse of Kevin wandering around Adventure Isle throughout the spring season.

Springtime also marks a celebration of female empowerment at Shanghai Disney Resort, with the return of the International Women’s Day celebration. This spring, Wandering Moon Restaurant is also releasing a new seasonal menu with traditional delicacies, all with Disney touches that make dining an occasion to remember. Shanghai Disney Resort to Participate in Tenth China Flower Expo with Elaborately Designed “Dream Garden”

Shanghai Disney Resort will participate in the Tenth China Flower Expo at Dongping National Forest Park on Shanghai’s Chongming Island, from May 21 to July 2, 2021. The resort will work together with its partners, the Shanghai Shendi Group, to jointly create a natural display titled: “Shanghai International Resort Garden – Dream Garden.” A rendering of the garden was released earlier today.



The 710-square-meter “Dream Garden,” located in the International and Enterprises pavilion of the China Flower Expo, will feature elements highlighting both Shanghai Disney Resort and other major areas of the Shanghai International Resort Zone. Designed by Shanghai Disney Resort and Walt Disney Imagineering Shanghai, the garden will use the same design philosophy as Shanghai Disney Resort - blending Disney and resort zone elements with traditional Chinese culture. The Dream Garden will also showcase Disney’s unique creativity and imagination, as well as the resort’s long-standing commitment to the environment - bringing the magic of Disney beyond the resort and sharing it with the tens of thousands of visitors coming to the Flower Expo this spring and summer.

Upon entering the “Dream Garden,” guests will be greeted by a stunning 13-meter-tall version of Shanghai Disneyland’s Enchanted Storybook Castle, the dramatic landmark situated at the heart of Shanghai Disneyland. As with the original, the castle in the “Dream Garden” will be crowned with a golden finial featuring a peony flower to represent China, as well as a cascade of Disney stars on the central spire, evoking the optimism that with belief and just a little magic, dreams really can come true.

After passing through the castle, a line of vivid topiary sculptures of beloved Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald, and Daisy, among others, will await guests under the “Once Upon a Time Archway,” named after the “Once Upon A Time Adventure” experience at the Enchanted Storybook Castle in Shanghai Disneyland.

While presenting an authentically Disney experience to all guests, the “Dream Garden” will also feature distinctly Chinese elements. In addition to the golden peony atop the castle’s finial, the entire garden is inspired by the traditional Chinese gardens found along the Yangtze River Delta. Chinese paper-cutting techniques will also be well represented in the design of the flower windows, and plants and flowers originating from China, including the Chinese rose, Camellias and Nandina, will be highlighted throughout.



As a special bonus, guests who purchase a Flower Expo ticket will also be able to enjoy a special rate on their ticket to Shanghai Disneyland. The bundle ticket for the Flower Expo and Shanghai Disneyland will be on sale via the expo’s official ticketing channels.

The “Dream Garden” at the China Flower Expo is just a small taste of Shanghai Disney Resort’s ingenuity and innovation, offering visitors a glimpse at just some of the magic that lies within the resort.

La troisième édition du concours annuel Disney Imaginations Shanghai Design Competition organisé par Shanghai Disney Resort à l'attention des universités de Shanghai et Hangzhou s'est achevée la semaine dernière au Shanghai Disneyland Hotel.

L'équipe Peach composée d'étudiants de l'université Jiao-tong de Shanghai a remporté la compétition avec leur projet The Arcadia pour son concept créatif, ses solides compétences narratives et la qualité de sa présentation.

Pour récompense du travail réalisé, l'équipe Peach se voit donner la chance de poursuivre son parcours créatif en effectuant un stage à Shanghai Disney Resort, où ils pourront acquérir de l'expérience aux côtés des Imagineers de Walt Disney Imagineering Shanghai. L'équipe se voit également remettre un prix en espèces.

University Students Compete to Reimagine the Future of Attractions

The finale of the 2021 Disney Imaginations Shanghai Design Competition, organized by Shanghai Disney Resort with participation from Walt Disney Imagineering Shanghai, was held earlier today at the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel. A true celebration of up-and-coming talent, the finale saw five teams from local universities present their ideas to an expert panel, with team “Peach” from Shanghai Jiao Tong University being declared the champions, with their project, “The Arcadia” winning them the chance to gain first-hand experience working with Imagineers from Walt Disney Imagineering Shanghai.

Since 2018, the annual Disney Imaginations Shanghai Design Competition has received submissions from more than 1200 students from participating universities in Shanghai and Hangzhou. This year’s competition challenged students to imagine the daily lives of humans several hundred years in the future, and then create a compelling experience that provides an immersive opportunity to a wide range of guests. Five outstanding teams of four students each were selected from dozens of submissions, and were advanced to the final stage of the competition, held earlier today.

The five finalist teams from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts, and the China Academy of Art, presented their project proposals to a panel of experts from Shanghai Disney Resort and Walt Disney Imagineering Shanghai during this morning’s finale. Each team showcased their projects using a variety of creative assets to enhance their final delivery, including drawings, mock-ups, 3D plans, videos and more.

After a thorough deliberation among the panel, team “Peach” from Shanghai Jiao Tong University was awarded first prize for their creative concept, strong storytelling, and presentation skills. Second place went to team “Dwarfs” from Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts, and “Team Mirage” from Tongji University placed third.

In recognition of the winning team’s excellent work, they will receive a cash prize and a fully sponsored trip to Shanghai Disney Resort, where they will go behind the scenes with Imagineers at Walt Disney Imagineering Shanghai and gain a first-hand learning experience. The team will continue their creative journey by interning at Shanghai Disney Resort, where they will be able to learn from some of the most creative minds in the industry. Team “Dwarfs” and “Team Mirage” will also be awarded cash prizes and the opportunity to interview for internships at Shanghai Disney Resort.

Just like the real Castle, the castle model in the “Dream Garden” is crowned with a golden finial featuring a Chinese peony flower together with cascading stars, evoking the optimism that with belief and just a little magic, dreams really can come true.

Shanghai Disney Resort and Goodbaby Group, one of the world’s leading parenting product companies, jointly announced today that the two parties have entered into a multi-year resort alliance - introducing Goodbaby as the Official Stroller Sponsor of Shanghai Disney Resort. The brand-new strollers, custom-tailored for Shanghai Disneyland, are now available in the park, providing an even smoother and more enjoyable experience for families with little ones.

“We put great importance in delivering an exceptional guest experience and are always looking for innovative solutions to enhance and improve every single detail of our offerings,” said Joe Schott, President and General Manager, Shanghai Disney Resort. “With this exciting new alliance, we have spent many months working together with Goodbaby to design and develop a stroller that delivers an elevated park experience for families with young children.”

Both children and their guardians will find the stroller to be a relaxing and useful aid during their visit to Shanghai Disneyland. The stroller takes advantage of expanded seating space and its adjustable seated and lying-down modes deliver a more comfortable ride for children aged six months to seven years old. With an innovative brake on the stroller’s handle and an additional basket under the seat for extra storage, guardians will find the stroller easy and convenient to push or pull around during their visit.

As with everything at Shanghai Disney Resort, as well as at Goodbaby, safety was the first priority when designing the new stroller. The design team worked on a range of different aspects to ensure it passed hundreds of rounds of demanding tests before it was finalized. For example, the stroller features a smoothed front edge with a curved surface, to help avoid potential hazards for both users and other guests in the park.

Following strict eco-friendly standards, material selection and the mass production process of the stroller are reflections of Goodbaby’s commitment to the environment, with recyclable components and parts that can be easily swapped out and reused, being used throughout.

Following the initial launch of the stroller, Shanghai Disneyland and Goodbaby will continue to introduce new user-friendly functions to further address guests’ needs. A Bluetooth lock function will be added by the end of the year, allowing guests to lock and unlock the rented stroller as needed by linking it to their smartphone.

With this new alliance, more PhotoPass capture locations will be set up at Shanghai Disneyland, and more photographers will be deployed across the park by DEI, providing a seamless experience for guests using the Disney PhotoPass service. Starting this September, new imaging cart locations will join the pre-existing carts, enabling guests to purchase and print photos in Fantasyland, Disney·Pixar Toy Story Land, Tomorrowland and Gardens of Imagination.

Non-Stop Halloween Thrills with an Extended Spook-tacular

As the clock ticks towards October, Shanghai Disney Resort is once again preparing to be the home of Halloween fun in Shanghai. From October 4 through November 7, guests can enjoy a range of amazing new and traditional Halloween celebrations, featuring classic decorations, entertainment, shows, activities, trick-or-treating, and of course the chance for guests to show off their coolest Halloween costumes.



As the one time of year where guests of all ages can dress up to meet their favorite Disney characters, Halloween is the perfect time to don your fanciest costume and snap unique selfies in front of your favorite Disney landmarks, including the Enchanted Storybook Castle, where, as a special surprise, select Disney Villains will also make occasional appearances on the balcony.

As night falls, Treasure Cove will once again transform itself into the home of our Ghost Pirates, who will wait to delight guests around every corner. The setting of the sun will also bring with it an exciting Halloween-themed cavalcade and a “This is Halloween!” Dance Party.

With the huge popularity of the Halloween Day Spectacular over the past two years, this year Shanghai Disney Resort’s legendary Halloween Spook-tacular has been extended to four days of celebrations, from October 28 to 31, with many Disney characters, DJs and live musicians creating spooky magic throughout the Resort. The pinnacle of the Halloween Spook-tacular will arrive with a special Halloween Villains Fireworks Show filled with thrilling music and spooky projections topping off each day in Spook-tacular style and making the Spook-tacular one of the most exciting Halloween parties in the town. Introducing the First-Ever Chip ’n’ Dale Celebration

Once the frightening delights of Halloween have left the resort for another year, guests can look forward to more magical surprises during the first-ever Chip ’n’ Dale Celebration, set to run from November 8 to November 24. Meet the New Shanghai Disney Resort Ambassador Team !

Today, Shanghai Disney Resort announced the 2022-2023 Ambassador Team: Phoebe Jiang and Witty Zhang. During their two-year term – beginning Jan. 1, 2022 – Phoebe and Witty will continue the legacy of the Ambassador program by representing Shanghai Disney Resort, leading our cast members to bring love and care to children and families, make lasting positive changes within the community and sharing Disney magic and happiness with more people! Congratulations, Phoebe and Witty!

Earlier this morning, we held an announcement ceremony with our cast members and Imagineers at the resort’s Walt Disney Grand Theatre to welcome the new Ambassadors.



The current Ambassador Team – Eleven and Fiona passed the Ambassador pins over to the new ambassadors.



Phoebe and Witty also led Mickey’s Storybook Express today, celebrating with guests in the park.



Phoebe currently works in Park Operations on the guest services team at Shanghai Disney Resort. As a frontline cast member, she has delivered Disney’s legendary service to thousands of guests and helps create magical memories each and every day. Phoebe is also a member of the Disney VoluntEARS Leadership Council. Upon learning that she was elected as a new Ambassador, Phoebe reacted by saying, “It’s a huge honor and surprise to be elected as a new Ambassador as our resort is celebrating its Fifth Anniversary with a Year of Magical Surprises! As a Disney Ambassador, I look forward to working with my fellow cast here at Shanghai Disney Resort to bring happiness to more guests and communities in the future!”

Witty is a cast member in the resort’s entertainment team. In 2018, she joined Shanghai Disney Resort with dreams to become a Host, bringing happiness and surprises to guests. Witty was moved to tears upon learning that she was selected as a new Ambassador, “It’s been a dream of mine for three years and it finally came true. Thanks to each and every cast member who supported us along the way to help us learn and grow. I hope that during my Ambassador term, I will be able to create more exciting journeys for guests and cast.”

Shanghai Disney Resort has selected three Ambassador terms since 2015. The current Ambassador team, Fiona Huang and Eleven Song, are about to end their three-year term. All of the Ambassadors – who have brought countless magical moments to cast, guests and the community with sincerity and warmth – look forward to witnessing the creativity and new experiences of their successors in the coming years.
