C'est vraiment... WOUAH ! J'en reste bouche-bée... Rien que la batisse est vraiment magnifique ! Puis en tant que grande fan de La Petite Sirène je ne peux qu'apprécier cette attraction ! Mais maintenant, j'attends qu'elle vienne jusqu'à nous étant donné que je n'ai pas prévu d'aller en Californie de si tôt !

A quick update from the outside of the mermaid building.



Some have complained that the trees lining the queue will block the view of the beautiful facade. We think it adds character and complexity. If you just want to view the building, you'll be able to see it just fine if you step back a bit. We'll all be glad for the shade when we are waiting in a 3 hour line when this attraction opens early next month.

Je suis très excité par cette attraction !
Je serai à Disneyland et DCA milieu du mois de juillet, l'occasion de sentir l'effervescence qui y régnera.Je sais déjà que peut importe le temps d'attente, je m'engagerai dans Ariel's Undersea Adventure avant de finir la journée en beauté avec World Of Color .
Ce sera vraiment "The place to be" cet été .J'ai hâte !

Next door at DCA the Little Mermaid ride is being put through its paces, with lots of last minute tweaking and adjusting still going on to all the lighting, special effects and 183 different animated characters in the ride. Cast Members are being trained this week on the Omnimover ride system, and like last week’s opportunities for hundreds of Cast Members to ride Star Tours, the call has gone out for any Anaheim Cast Member to sneak in the side door and ride the attraction while the new Attractions Cast Members are trained this week.

One of the outcomes of the final testing has been a decision to not slow the Omnimover system down much more, getting back to a ride time of closer to six minutes. The change there is based on a realization that the dialogue from the animatronic host of the story, Scuttle the seabird, becomes too repetitive at slower speeds, in addition to similar problems with dialogue from Flotsam and Jetsam and Ursula in two different scenes later in the ride.

While a lot of the marketing message for Mermaid is going to tout the huge Under The Sea musical production number with 128 animated characters, it’s the more intimate yet technically advanced scenes with Ursula and Flotsam and Jetsam that are really impressing the first test riders who have been on the ride already. The operations teams at DCA are also concerned with managing epic lines this summer, and at a ride time closer to six minutes they can pump through about 1,900 riders per hour instead of 1,600 per hour, making Mermaid the second highest capacity attraction at DCA behind California Screamin’.

Official Cast Member Previews, where Anaheim CM’s can bring friends and family with them to ride, begin May 20th, and on Friday the 26th some local media will get a sneak preview of both Mermaid and the Soundsational Parade. After the media preview is finished, and assuming all goes well, the attraction could be open for soft openings for park visitors at any time over Memorial Day weekend up until it gets locked down again on June 2nd for the media event.

Certains Cast Members ont déjà pu tester l'attraction et les avis sont très positifs! Voilà une première critique trouvée sur MiceAge:

Ok, so I got to ride it 6 times tonight! So OMG first and foremost, the Queue is just GORGEOUS! so unexpected! There's no fountain or statue in the middle of the rotunda, butthe floor is beautiful with a tile rim with sea creatures! The queue is very similar to the diagram I made, except you actually enter the building from the middle of the arch! The landscaping is so well implemented and your surrounded by it! Even in unexpected places! They went with the sea theme when choosing the right plants. The interior is very gorgeous with the walls painted with seaweed forms and such, the lights are beautiful and the floor is like adobe or something, very spanish! Kinda like a Mexican restaurant times a hundred! Being inside with the high ceiling and glass window it's just too much for words! And the mural! Omg it's amazing! Handpainted and lights in certain areas to give it highlights! Ariel even has a haloish light behind her, glimmering! It reminds me so much like the Peter Pan mural but much bigger!

The ride itself, I won't give too much away, but I was BLOWN away! I think the winners here are the small figures! Sebastian is so animated! They animate his eyes in the same way they did a recent animitronic! There is a surprising use of projections, but they are incorporated well. I will say the way they animated Ariel is VERY similar to the AA which I thought was a nice touch and brings it all together. SERIOUSLY, the preview video of the Ariel figure really did it no justice! She wasn't all shiny and creepy at all! And she had very fluid movements and looked EXACTLY like movie Ariel! My favorite scene was definately Ursula! But I loved the transition into her room! Nice little surprise. Ursula did have a lazy eye and some glitches, but I'm sure they'll be fixed before opening. I loved the decending and acending scenes! And the elevation change is definitely noticeable! Some scenes aren't like what was shown in the concept art, like the destruction of ursula and the finale scen but they were done very well! And the transition from final scene to loading area to me was VERY FL like, but in a good way! It was VERY immersive like Pirates! Especially the underwater scenes! They reminded me of the grotto/cavern scene from pirates! And it really feels like your underwater in some parts! I do wish it went slower, I guess lassater's suggestion wasn't implemented. In some scenes it felt like you were going too fast. I saw them do a few wheelchairs for practice and it's exactly like HM where they slow down and sometimes even stop the ride. The CMs werent wearing the actual costumes. Overall I give it 9.5/10! You guys will LOVE it!

Je suis bluffé par le nombre d'AA de cette attraction !
Et par leur qualité, notamment celle d'Ursula et ceux d'Ariel et son prince charmant. C'est incroyable.

Tout ça donne envie, ça a l'air de fourmiller de détails ! Les AA m'ont l'air fabuleux mais je reste encore sceptique quant à celui d'Ariel au sein d'Under the sea ... On ne l'aperçoit que très peu, sans musique, sans lumières dont il est bien sur impossible de juger mais de ce qu'on voit, elle renvoie une image très robotique, y a comme un truc qui cloche.

Le truc qui cloche, ce sont ses cheveux. Trop massifs. Genre choucroute dans laquelle on a mis un pétard. Ce n'était peut-être pas l'idée du siècle d'animer sa chevelure. Mais bon, fait voir ça effectivement avec les bons éclairages.
Mais pour le reste, ça a l'air superbe. Du grand DR !

Je ne cite pas l'avis en entier car il est assez long et ça alourdirait la page pour rien, mais c'est plus que prometteur ! Apparemment Imagineering nous a vraiment sorti un sacré hit, j'espère pouvoir le tester d'ici à la fin de l'année
