Je ne sais plus où mais j'ai lu en effet quelques part que c'etait moins bien
On aura peut être plus de retour avec la vague de departs qu'il y a eu ces derniers jours/semaines..

comme on est tous les 2 fans de Stitch, on a vu qu'il y a moyen de voir Stitch pendant un repas au Polynesian Village Resort. J'ai fait quelques recherches et je suis tombée sur un spectacle.

Savez-vous si la rencontre avec Stitch se fait un peu comme à l'hôtel Disney de Disneyland Paris, à savoir les personnages qui vont de table en table ? Ou est-ce que c'est juste un repas devant un spectacle ?

A ma connaissance, la seule possibilité de voir stitch au polynesian, c'est de prendre le petit déjeuner à l'ohana.
Le spectacle dont tu parles ça doit être le spectacle de Luau "Spirit of Aloha" et ça n'a aucun rapport avec les persos disney

That arrival experience is about to take on a whole new look with an enhanced entryway that will debut just in time for the resort hotel’s 50th anniversary.

One of the biggest changes will greet you right up front – a new porte cochere will showcase the iconic mid-20th century architecture the Polynesian is famous for. Our team from Walt Disney Imagineering and Walt Disney World have crafted a design inspired by colors, patterns and textures found throughout the resort.  This new entry features a high-pitched, open-truss roof covered in a thatch style. There’s also a bold façade that features pops of color complementing the Longhouses found throughout the resort. Along the Monorail station, bold new wooden screens will be covered with geometric patterns in bright, tropical colors that complete an exciting new composition that will greet you when you arrive.

Enhancements will also be made to the lush gardens and fountains that have welcomed guests to the resort since opening day.

The open and airy design of the entryway will feature dramatic lighting elements, including beautiful chandeliers inspired by glass floats, fishing nets and oversized bamboo elements. The new chandeliers will match the existing grand chandelier in the resort lobby, artfully bridging interior and exterior spaces.  

While work is underway over the coming months, guests can still enjoy access to the Great Ceremonial House and its operating dining and retail outlets.

The new arrival experience is just the beginning of what guests will discover when the resort reopens in summer 2021. All of the resort’s guest rooms are being beautifully redone too. These reimagined spaces feature a new color palette inspired by the Pacific Ocean and its many islands, including details, patterns and textures from the hit Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Moana” – look closely and you might even spot some characters from the story!

Le magazine économique Forbes rapporte le projet d'ériger une nouvelle tour Disney Vacation Club sur le site de l'ancien dîner-spectacle Spirit of Aloha à Luau Cove.

Prévue pour ouvrir fin 2024, le nouveau bâtiment proposé compléterait le complexe existant et évoquerait l'esprit des îles du Pacifique.

La première phase de l'expansion du Disney Vacation Club au Disney’s Polynesian Resort a débuté en 2015 avec 360 studios de luxe et 20 bungalows sur l'eau, la réalisation de ce nouveau projet concrétiserait la deuxième phase de l'expansion.

Disney has announced a new expansion for the popular Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort that will bring more Disney Vacation Club villas to the popular resort. The new villas coming to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be located on the edge of the man made waterway, Seven Seas Lagoon, and be part of the fan-favorite monorail resorts. This is the same area where Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is located.

“It’s no secret that our Members and Guests love the monorail resorts at Walt Disney World,” said Bill Diercksen, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Vacation Club, in a statement. “Expanding our Disney Vacation Club offerings at the Polynesian would give our Members and Guests yet another incredible option for staying close to the magic while making vacation memories that last a lifetime.”

Disney Vacation Club is a timeshare program run by Disney where people buy-in for a set amount of time and receive an allotment of points to use each year. The main difference between Disney Vacation Club and traditional timeshares is Disney offers a flexible, vacation points-based system rather than the traditional fixed-week timeshare model. Everyone who buys into Disney Vacation Club has a “home resort” at either Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort, or Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa.

This isn’t the first time Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has been part of the timeshare program. In 2015, the first phase of the Disney Vacation Club expansion debuted at the resort with 360 deluxe studios and 20 over-the-water bungalows.

The expansion for the resort will be located between the existing footprint of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Wedding Pavilion and is set to open in late 2024. Disney fans will notice this was the location of the Spirit of Aloha dinner show, which is now permanently closed to make way for the new building. The building will feature new recreation and dining options for those choosing to stay there.

Le polynesian va bientôt devenir un hôtel uniquement DVC si ça continue

Les infrastructures du dîner-spectacle Spirit of Aloha ont été officiellement démolies pour faire place à une nouvelle aile du Disney Vacation Club.

Interrompu brusquement en mars 2020 avec la première vague de la pandémie de Covid-19, le dîner-spectacle Spirit of Aloha a donc disparu sans offrir une dernière représentation....

Je suppose que les artistes (tout comme l'ensemble des Cast Members qui étaient attachés à Spirit of Aloha) ne sont pas resté sans travailler depuis mars 2020 et qu'ils ont réorienté leur carrière professionnelle que ce ce soit au sein de la Walt Disney Company ou ailleurs.

Pour mon futur voyage en DVC, qui sait... J'imagine bien 4 nuits au Animal Kingdom Lodge (que j'avais totalement adoré en avril 2022),  4 au Beach Club que je rêve de faire (tellement pratique pour aller à pieds aux DHS et à  EPCOT) et 4 au Polynesian. Le prix doit bien piquer par contre.

Pas bien convaincu par le projet pour ma part. C'est indéniablement très joli, qualitatif et luxueux mais c'est très impersonnel et ça ressemble plutôt à un très bel hôtel Universal, le genre qui célèbre une thématique particulière mais sans chercher à nous immerger dedans. Je visiterai tout cela avec intérêt mais je ne pense pas y loger. Quitte à dormir au Disney's Polynesian Resort, je préfère l'expérience actuelle.

Je n'ai jamais visité le poly donc difficile à juger, et j'ai aussi parfois un peu de mal avec tous les ajouts de DVC qui ont été faits au GF, Contemporary ou WL,donc à voir en effet. Le design ne me hype pas plus que ça.

J'ai passé 6 nuits au Poly (en DVC) l'été dernier, de très loin ma meilleure expérience Disney, vraiment merveilleux ! Mais clairement, cette "extension" va amener plus de monde sur le monorail, plus de monde sur la plage (déjà squattée le soir par des gens qui ne logent pas au Poly pour voir le spectacle nocturne), et moins de divertissement (vu qu'elle remplace le spectacle polynésien). Et la théma n'est, d'après ces photos, pas à la hauteur du reste.

Bref, tout ça ne va pas dans le sens de l'expérience visiteur

Bon, à étudier donc. Je reste accroché au Animal Kingdom Lodge mais je voudrais tester le Beach Club après le Boardwalk.

A étudier pour un prochain voyage en achetant des points DVC car je rêve de faire quelques nuits au Poly.
