“How Disney Built America” is a nostalgia-filled ride that paints a vivid picture of the world of Walt Disney and the history-making empire he built. Each hour-long episode focuses on a different example of game-changing brilliance in Disney’s history including inventing the world’s most recognizable characters, creating the animated features industry, revolutionizing the concept of merchandising, and using groundbreaking engineering to construct Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and beyond. Viewers will hear from Imagineer Bob Gurr, a direct hire from Walt who developed over 100 designs for Disney attractions, to gain surprising insights into the unique innovations and struggles involved in realizing the dreams of a visionary. The series utilizes rarely seen archival material, original dramatic recreations, and key interviews from Don Wildman, Margaret Kerrison, Douglas Brinkley, Mindy Johnson, and others to expand on how the brand is forever woven into the fabric of American life.

Le premier épisode est basée sur le court-métrage Steamboat Willie de 1928, suivi du 2ème épisode basé sur Blanche-Neige et les sept nains en 1937, on apprend dans le documentaire que le jeune Walt avait été fascinée lorsqu'il était jeune par une adaptation hideuse en version muette en live-action de Blanche-Neige et les sept nains ainsi que d'Alice au pays des merveilles en 1933, et qu'il trouvait que l'animation serait le meilleur usage pour raconter ces 2 histoires au lieu de le faire en live-action, finalement Blanche-Neige fut son premier film d'animation a obtenir ce succès suivi des années plus tard avec Alice au pays des merveilles.

Donc ainsi Walt Disney avait inventée le remake bien avant que ce soit célèbre mais cette fois en animation, on sait d'où en est venu la suite.

Guillermo Del Toro aurait été fière de lui avec son remake en stop-motion de Pinocchio en 2022 au lieu du remake fait par Disney la même année.
