Ah la musique de Paradise Pier ! Ses reprises des fameux succes a l'honneur de la californie, beach boys, randy newman..... Ont-ils garde cette musique d'ambiance ?

La nouvelle entrée est quasi finie. Wlecome to Disney Hollywoo studios. Oups, pardon, DCA.

Je suis d'accord. Ce n'est pas parce que l'entrée s'inspire d'un bâtiment hollywoodien existant qu'elle devait être la même référence pour les deux parcs. Tout comme le Carthay Circle Theater se trouve aussi sur Sunset Bld à DHS, ça me fait bizarre de le voir (même si je pense que la version DCA sera à taile réelle, donc plus grande).

Et on peut bien dire de notre WDS, mais on a vraiment pas de quoi se plaindre de notre entrée, Front Lot!

Elle est très jolie cette entrée, et ce n'est pas encore fini, il faut voir tout Buena Vista Street pour pouvoir juger!
Ce qui est dommage c'est que c'est quasiment la même chose qu'aux Disney's Hollywood Studios...

Euh... le California Zephyr est visible sur la photo de Google Earth que j'ai posté! Cette photo est donc encore d'actualité puisqu'il n'a pas encore été supprimé... mais ça ne devrait tarder!!

Il faut parfois longtemps avant que Google Earth ne change ses photos
Il y a toujours la tonelle dans le jardin de mes parents alors qu'elle a été enlevée il y a 2 ans

En tout cas le Disney California Adventure, après son placemaking sera un parc vraiment magnifique
J'ai hâte de voir ce parc, une fois les travaux fini.

Les choses sérieuses vont bientôt commencer pour Buena Vista Street!



En effet, dès que la nouvelle entrée (entourée en rouge) sera opérationnelle (fin juillet), l’ancienne entrée sera rasée et un passage temporaire (trait jaune) sera créé pour relier cette nouvelle entrée au reste du parc (le long du bâtiment abritant Soarin’ Over California). Une sortie auxiliaire de fin de journée est prévue (étoile jaune).

Début août, la section ouest de la rue (de 1 à 4 sur la carte) sera fermée et transformée.
Fin août, la section est de la rue (de 5 à 7 sur la carte) sera fermée et transformée.
Début septembre, toutes les boutiques et restaurants situés à l’entrée du parc seront donc fermés.

Buena Vista Street doit impérativement être finie pour la 2^e quinzaine de juin 2012 quand Cars Land ouvrira.

At the end of July, more of the already decimated DCA main entrance area is scheduled to go behind construction walls. It’s that total remake of DCA’s opening act into the hyper-themed Buena Vista Street area that has the project managers sweating bullets already. The late arrival of the comparatively modest Paradise Garden section of the park has everyone realizing just how aggressive and optimistic these DCA construction timelines are, and there’s much more riding on the line for Buena Vista Street than there was for the Paradise Garden area. The timetable for the Paradise Garden restaurant area and Goofy’s Sky School was thrown off by some winter rains and an overly aggressive plan, and there’s no guarantee we won’t have a wet winter next year too.
When the Paradise Garden area opens July 1st the smaller Paradise Garden Grill may be the only thing open there for the first few days, unless some miracles can happen at the larger and still behind schedule Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta restaurant. Goofy’s Sky School is all ready to go operationally and could theoretically open today, but they are purposely holding off to allow some of the construction crews to work unimpeded right up to the rides southern flanks. The walls around Goofy’s Sky School will shift further this week, and daily soft openings are tentatively scheduled to begin this Saturday and continue until the area formally opens on July 1st.

The pressure has already been turned up on the Buena Vista Street project because it simply can’t suffer a major timeline slip like Paradise Garden did. Buena Vista Street must be completed and fully functional for the opening of Cars Land and the big media event that Burbank wants TDA to stage to officially re-launch the most infamous theme park in Disney’s history. To have arriving Cars Land visitors and the media passing through canyons of construction walls at the main entrance next summer is simply not going to be an option, and the project managers are now creating a series of triggers that might be hit through spring, 2012 to activate the needed overtime to get it all done in time.

The result is that TDA is already planning for a Cars Land and DCA Relaunch celebrity party that is aiming for the last half of June, 2012 instead of something closer to Memorial Day weekend or early June. Not having the Buena Vista Street arrival complex finished by the Cars Land debut is simply not an option, per the suits in Burbank who have approved all the money to get this done. Even with a late June premiere date, it will really be a race against the clock.

Later this July, once the new turnstile complex is fully functioning, the old turnstiles will be quickly torn down and walls will be placed just south of the turnstiles and a new backstage corridor will be opened up that shoots along the north side of the Soarin’ Over California hangar building. That rather unglamorous route will serve as DCA’s main entrance and exit, along with an auxiliary evening exit at the floodgates near the World of Disney store, for the next 10 months as Buena Vista Street races against the clock to completion. Never in the history of Disney theme parks have they had to welcome and bid farewell to park visitors in such an uninviting environment, and for such a long period of time. But then again, never in the history of Disney theme parks (or any theme park really) have they had to perform such major surgery on an operating theme park before.

There is a theme park here, really.

In early August the western half of DCA’s entry complex that currently houses the stroller shop, Engine Ears Toys, Bakers Field Bakery, and Bur-r-r-rbank Ice Cream will go behind walls for its makeover into Clarabelle’s Ice Cream Parlor, the Fiddler, Fifer and Practical Café, Kingswell Photo Supply, Julius Katz & Sons, the Atwater Ink and Paint shop, and the Red Car Trolley station. And then in late August the eastern half of the street that currently houses the Guest Relations and Lost and Found complex and the big Greetings From California store will shut down as well, to be turned into Mortimer’s Market, Oswald’s Service Station, Los Feliz Five & Dime, and the Elias & Co. Department Store. By early September, DCA’s entire entry complex of stores and restaurants will be shut down and behind walls, making it particularly difficult to get into or out of the Hollywood section of the park. September will also see a six week refurbishment begin at California Screamin’ to entirely replace the loop and paint much of the structure from September 6th until October 14th.

BUENA VISTA CIRCLE:

The front gates of the new park are nearing completion and should be ready for use soon. Once this happens in the last half of July, walls will engulf the old turnstiles and the building of the facades on Buena Vista Street will begin.

How will you get into the park if the front is walled off? There is an elaborate plan which will have you taking a trip from the new turnstiles backstage along the backside of Soarin''' and over to the wide pathway where the the character photo op is near Soarin's overflow line.

Get ready. This last push of construction will take extra planning on the part of guests rushing to make their World of Color showtime or to catch that reservation at the trattoria. It isn't a pretty solution, but it works and we are more than willing to put up with this short inconvenience in exchange for a beautiful new entry area.

The Carthay Circle Theater suddenly showed a push of progress this past week with masking and metal framing springing up all over the steel framework.




GOOFY'S SKY SCHOOL:


This weekend could see soft openings of the rethemed wild mouse coaster into Goofy's Sky School. Cast members have been scheduled to man the entrance and explain that the ride is not currently open . . . which is often code that the attraction may in fact soft open.



PARADISE GARDEN RESTAURANTS:
Will Paradise Garden restaurants meet their July 1st opening goal? We hope so. But, Al Lutz reports that Paradise Pizza and Pasta may be behind schedule once again. When it is done, it will be done. Regardless, the work we can see from the outside is impressive and a total change from what was there before. It is an astounding transformation, isn't it folks?!

Franchement, même s'il s'agit d'une amélioration par rapport à Mulholand Madness et que la file d'attente a l'air de regorger de petits détails, pour le reste, concernant le ride lui-même, ce ne sont pas quelques nuages en carton pâte et deux panneaux animés qui vont en faire une vraie attraction Disney ! Soit ils auraient dû mettre cette attraction complètement indoor, soit ils auraient dû la raser !

Je suis aussi étonné qu'ils aient ajouté des FP. La capacité de ce ride n'est pas plus grande que pour Crush...

Tu m'enlèves les mots de la bouche... En même temps inutile de rendre cette attraction plus "attirante" qu'elle ne l'est vu sa capacité... La raser c'était pour moi la bonne option.

Ca cloche d'autant plus que les restos juste à côté ont l'air magnifiques.

La file d'attente m'a l'air sympa et parsemée de petites allusions au Planeur de Dingo.

Ceci dit, dès que le ride commence, c'est vraiment du bricolage, les panneaux ajoutés sont certes tous dans l'esprit du film mais ça n'enlèvera pas que toute la structure est visible et le parcours très peu confortable ! Un peu décevant même si c'est bien évidemment mieux que Mulholland Madness qui passait complètement inaperçu dans le Parc alors que là, les gens s'arrêteront bien plus souvent pour le faire !

Pas une vraie attraction Disney, ça revient toujours dans les débats. Que ce soit GSS ou TSP.

Les simples manèges de fête foraine ont tjs fait partie de l'offre Disney. On fait de faux procès à ces manèges qui sont tout aussi nécessaires que les E-tickets pour harmoniser l'offre.

On avait besoin de donner un biscuit aux enfants qui ne pouvaient pas faire "California Screamin".
"Allez Hop hop hop, si on mettait un petit mouse-coaster simple, en plus avec le thême fête foraine "Boardwalk, ça collerait bien non ?"

Je comprends que ce soit pas l'attraction la plus aboutie au monde, mais j'arrive pas à crier au scandale, ça reste dans l'esprit "Boardwalk" et ça le fait avec les enfants.
Le genre de truc où vraiment je me dis merde. C'est genre quand je suis à Epcot et que je vois le Swan & Dolphin, là, je me dis en voyant le pov cygne qui dépasse des pavillons "Tin, ils ont vraiment fumé.".

Je ferai probablement cette attraction cet été.

Mon avis est plutot mitigé.D'un coté, c'est mieux que mulholand, d'un autre, ce n'est pas très intéressant .Je le ferai pour la nouveauté et pour la vue mais pas plus d'une fois .

C'est une attraction pensée sur le court terme, sans véritable investissement qui devra un jour etre revue une fois de plus, ou détruite .

Je suis d'accord! Ce n'est pas particulièrement beau, mais c'est bien mieux qu'avant, c'est surtout la file d'attente et tout ce qu'il y autour qui est réussi, j'aime ce style boardwalk/rétro début 20ème! Et j'aime bien la couleur bleu ciel!
