Tokyo neuvième navire Disney [Disney Cruise Line - 2029]

Un neuvième navire Disney va être construit et déployé au Japon en partenariat avec Oriental Land Company. Il devrait être opérationnel début 2029 :

Oriental Land Company Ltd., qui cherchait des dernières années à diversifier ses activités et ses sources de revenus, annonce le lancement d'un nouveau projet approuvé par le conseil d’administration qui s’est réuni le 9 juillet 2024 !

Oriental Land Company Ltd. a pris la décision de se lancer dans le secteur des croisières au Japon et a conclu un accord de licence avec The Walt Disney Company pour apporter la magie des croisières Disney sur le marché japonais.

Sur la base de l'accord de licence conclu avec Disney, la construction d'un nouveau navire de croisière par le constructeur naval allemand Meyer Werft débutera à partir de l'exercice fiscal 2025 avec l'objectif de devenir opérationnel à partir de l’exercice fiscal 2028 et plus précisément au début de l'année 2029 en terme de calendrier.

Oriental Land Company Ltd., déjà actif dans le secteur des parcs à thème avec Tokyo Disney Resort, de l'hôtellerie avec Milial Resort Hotels Company Ltd. et Brighton Corporation Company Ltd., des complexes de divertissement avec Ikspiari Company Ltd., des transports avec Maihama Resort Line Company, Ltd., de l'aménagement paysager avec Green and Arts Company Ltd. et de la restauration en entreprise avec Bay Food Service Company Ltd., prévoit pour cette nouvelle entreprise un montant total d'investissement qui devrait s'élever à environ 330 milliards de yens (environ 1,9 milliards d'euro).

Oriental Land Compnay Ltd. sera propriétaire, gestionnaire  et exploitant de ce nouveau navire de croisières disposant d'environ 1.250 cabines pour une capacité d'environ 4.000 passagers (pour environ 1.500 membres d'équipage).

Les itinéraires envisagés seront principalement de courtes distances au départ et à l'arrivée des ports autour de la Zone métropolitaine de Tokyo.

Oriental Land Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “the Company”) announced that Disney cruises are coming to Japan, and a license agreement was concluded today as follows with Disney Enterprises, Inc. (hereinafter “Disney Company”) regarding cruise business in Japan. This decision is based on the board of directors meeting held on July 9, 2024.


1. Objective

The Oriental Land Group has previously announced its goals for the year 2030, with the objective of contributing to our society, and achieving long term growth. The Company has remodeled its business structure, and is promoting actions to achieve further growth. As part of this effort, plans were being considered for a new business opportunity.

The Company reached a decision to enter into the cruise business in Japan, and has concluded a license agreement with the Disney Company to bring the magic of Disney cruises to the market. This decision was based on the potential growth of the cruise market in Japan, the experience the Company has gained in its theme park and hotel operations, and its strong relationship with the Disney Company which will serve as a great advantage for this business opportunity.


2. Overview

2-1. Description

Disney cruises were first launched in 1998 in the United States, and its fleet currently consists of five ships. Building on its success, three more ships are expected, and services are also scheduled to start in Singapore.

Disney cruises offer fun and relaxation for guests of all ages with the incredible entertainment, world-class dining and exceptional guest service. Cruise fare covers everything guests need for a magical vacation, including spacious accommodations, immersive experiences with Disney characters, a wide range of upscale and casual dining options, pools and recreation, and more. Certain incremental items such as some experiences, food, and beverage are associated with additional fees.

Based on the license agreement concluded with the Disney Company, constructions for shipbuilding will commence from Japanese fiscal year 2025, with the objective to become operational from Japanese fiscal year 2028.

Services are scheduled to start from Japanese fiscal year 2028, as stated under 3. above, but any relevant matters such as those impacted by the consolidated financial results of the Company will be disclosed as soon as possible.

The Company has been offering guests immersive experiences through its theme park business at Tokyo Disney Resort. This is a new opportunity to add another unique immersive Disney experience that will create lifelong memories for families. The family entertainment on Disney cruises will bring happiness and enjoyment for guests.

It is an important signal for Papenburg as a shipbuilding location: the Oriental Land Company (OLC) has commissioned MEYER WERFT to build a Disney Wish-class cruise ship for the Japanese market. Bernard Meyer has signed the shipbuilding con-tract today in Tokyo. The new ship is scheduled to be delivered in 2028. OLC, which operates the Disney theme parks in Japan, is expected to commence operation of the ship by early 2029.

The Oriental Land Company reached a decision to enter into the cruise business in Ja-pan, and has concluded an agreement with Disney. to bring the magic of Disney cruise to the Japanese market for the first time.

Il y a effectivement les frais de licence Disney exorbitant qui facture au max la Cie mais je suis certain que ça sera le plus beau des Paquebots Disney Cruise Line . Une nouvelle grosse claque venant d'Oriental Land Cie .

Avec OLC je me dis que ça vient plus des frais de licence. Même si je ne suis pas de bateau, j'ai hate de voir ce que les Japonais vont demander/exiger

Si OLC met autant de qualité dans ce bateau que dans ses parcs, ce dont je ne doute pas, il y aura bientôt un joyau qui naviguera sur la mer.

L'exploitation de navire de croisière ne s'improvise pas. Je suppose donc qu'il y aura des synergies, mais à quel point ? Rien n'a encore été annoncé.

Je ne doute pas un seul instant qu'OLC va réaliser un travail de grande qualité et chérir son public. Ceci dit, le navire sera de la classe Triton tout comme le Wish, le Treasure et le Destiny. Sa structure globale est donc déjà établie. Ils auront bien sur le loisir d'adapter certains éléments et surtout une grande liberté sur les thématiques et décorations intérieures. Je suis curieux de voir ce qu'ils vont apporter.
