Walt Disney World Resort to Immerse Air Travelers in 50th Anniversary Celebration at Orlando International Airport
Anticipation fills the air as we near “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” and prepare for this milestone moment at Walt Disney World Resort … and beyond.
With so much excitement ahead, we want you to feel immersed in the magic as soon as you arrive in Central Florida, which is why a talented group of cast members is hard at work transforming the arrival experience at Orlando International Airport (MCO) with the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA).
Coming just in time for the 50th anniversary celebration this fall, airport passengers will discover many exciting Disney touches, including a wide-spanning art installation in the terminal train stations featuring favorite Disney characters, new magic engaging passengers as they walk through a glistening glow of projected EARidescent light patterns, and an immersive photo opportunity with a re-creation of a Disney ride vehicle to capture special memories as they make their way through the airport.
As part of this special transformation at the airport, we’re excited to also be working with GOAA on a new Magic of Disney store location opening with the South Terminal Complex in 2022.

Je suis d'accord, ils ont vraiment fait le max malgré les freins de la pandémie. On va voir ce que propose Dlp pour ses 30 ans , l'année prochaine histoire de comparer un petit peu l'offre des festivités. Oh c'est incomparable c'est Dlp , pas Wdw non plus. Seul les hausses de prix hallucinantes que pratique Dlp sont comme a Wdw a l'affiche. Mais très curieux de connaître le programme. Le campus Avengers avec une nouvelle attractions et une rethéma d'un vieux coaster ,ça sera tout niveau rides .

Pour les 50, on se retrouve avec les parcs les moins bien entretenus de Disney alors que plusieurs mises à jour d'attractions devaient faire partie de l'offre des festivités...
-les attractions classiques du MK comme Peter Pan, Space Mountain, the Carousel of Progress, Pirates of the Caribbean, Buzz et IASW sont dans un état LA-MEN-TABLE pour le parc à thème le plus visité au monde. Entre les AA HS et les décors qui n'ont pas été touchés depuis 71, ça fout mal...
-Même remarque pour Epcot avec son Future World mi-has been, mi-détruit en raison des travaux. Heureusement que Cosmic Rewind, annoncé depuis plus de 4 ans maintenant, arrive bientôt !
-L'offre de AK et de DHS reste très très pauvre en attractions...
-L'offre spectacle arrive difficilement à faire mieux que le Legoland voisin
-Les bateaux de Jungle Cruise et les bûches de Splash Mountain qui coulent alors que des guests sont dedans ça n'aide pas non plus pour l'image de WDW. Je n'ose même pas parler des portières des Monorails qui ne referment plus correctement, on se sent vachement en sécurité au pays de Mickey... Bref ils sont toujours coincés à l'époque de Pressler...
- le New Frontierland abandonné, les 3/4 des projets d'Epcot abandonnés pour l'heure n'aide pas non plus...
Mais bon si certains aiment bien le Pschiit de peinture Rose gold ici et là, la petite statue dorée de Figment, la copie d'une attraction Rat-ée et du coaster hyper court Tron qui ne respecte même pas l'univers du film eh bien tant mieux pour eux, ils vont être servis.

Niveau attractions, OK il y en a qui sont "has been" mais malgré ça j adore les faire... mais à côté de ça quand on a avatar, star wars, Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway,... Niveau show, ils seront à pleins régime en automne...+d autres choses qui arriveront suivant l évolution de la pandémie...et comparer avec legoland voisin il fallait oser...

Il faut voir l expérience globale et pas s arrêter sur quelques points (allant 2 fois par an à wdw je te rassure je n ai jamais coulé dans jungle Cruise et splash, ni eu de problèmes au monorail)

Oh yeah bien parlé et j'irai bien a Wdw rien que pour vivre l'expérience Starwars avec l'Hotel qui va avec Avatar et leur Toy Story Land qui est vraiment un Land avec Le coaster familiale mais qui a l'air bien sympa , Tsm et pas juste une zone avec 3 pauvre flat rides comme aux Wds .Ah oui et M&MRR ,ça me dit aussi . Pour le reste vous vaez tout dit ,les updates arriveront bien avant la phase 1 de l'extension des Wds .

T’inquiète moi aussi j’adore ces attractions has been et je fais carrousel of progress avec plaisir et les AA fonctionnent. Je n’ai pas non plus coulé dans Jungle Cruise ou Splash
Et entre l’offre de DLP, le prix de DLP, l’offre de WDW et le prix de WDW, le choix est très vite fait. Je choisis WDW.
Vivement la réouverture des frontières qu’on puisse y retourner parce que là, à chaque fois que je met un pied à DLP, WDW me manque.

2. Félicitations !!! Vous venez de définir avec succès le principe même d'un argumentaire/d'une thèse ! Toutefois une correction s'impose : il ne s'agit pas là de 《ma vérité》 mais plutôt de 《la vérité》.
Je n'ai fait que lister des éléments factuels visibles de tous : les AA de Splash Mountain volontairement laissés à l'abandon avec le système hydraulique parfois visible au niveau des guests, le light show inchangé depuis plus de 30 ans dans les 3/4 des attractions, les AA fatigués du Carousel of Progress avec sa scène finale rajoutée dans les années 80/90 qui fait tâche...
Tout cela est vérifiable et s'explique très simplement. Comme WDW brasse plein de visiteurs, ils ne souhaitent pas fermer plusieurs mois les grands classiques... Il n'y a qu'à voir Jungle Cruise qui reste ouvert alors que certains éléments de décors sont rajoutés ou retirés. Au bout d'un moment cela a un prix, celui de la sécurité des visiteurs en plus d'impacter l'expérience visiteur.

3. Vous remarquerez que je n'ai pas dit que les attractions étaient has-been, mais que l'ancienne section Future World , elle l'était. Ces grands classiques sont par définition indémodables et donc ne peuvent être réellement has-been, par contre j'ai bien dit qu'elles méritaient quelques remises à neuf autres que celles motivées par la bien-pensance et dont la partie RetD est principalement facturée à DLR. À côté de Paris et d'Anaheim, il y a un grand fossé à ce niveau là...
Toutes les nouveautés à part TSL sont très qualitatives mais celles-ci n'aident pas réellement à augmenter l'offre car elles sont construites à l'emplacement d'anciennes attractions, certes moins bien mais nécessaires certaines fois pour la diversité de l'offre. On a qd même que 9 manèges/rides aux DHS...

Ça ne vaut pas les spectacles de Paris et de Tokyo. J'attends de voir le spectacle de cerfs-volants et le mapping pour me faire un avis. Mais bon la plupart de l'offre spectacle stagne avec Fantasmic, la Petite sirène, la Belle et la Bête, la Fantasy machin Parade et la Mouse Shake it machin parade. C'est vraiment dommage. Surtout avec le Main Street Theater qui a lui aussi été annulé sans explication, et ce, bien avant la Covid19

Ça on est pas sûr pour l'après 50th. Et à Paris on a déjà eu toutes les updates, même si j'aimerais bien qu'ils s'attardent de nouveau sur Blanche-Neige, Pinocchio, IASW et Crush

Et bien moi c'est DLR que je préfère car pas besoin de payer le prix de 4 parcs pour avoir l'équivalent ds seulement 2 parcs...
Et heureusement qu'on ne coule pas systématiquement dans ces attractions, je ne prenais cet exemple que pour illustrer un certain laxisme en matière de sécurité...

It’s almost time. The anticipation is building. We’re less than 50 days from the start of an event 50 years in the making – “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” in honor of the 50th Anniversary at Walt Disney World Resort. It promises to be a spectacular, once-in-a-lifetime 18-month-long extravaganza unlike anything ever seen before, immersed in sparkling EARidescence and with Disney cast members at the heart of it all.
It’s going to be quite the celebration. And what’s a celebration without music? Platinum-selling songwriter and music producer Alana Da Fonseca answered the call to create an original anthem for the 50th Anniversary, collaborating with award-winning composer Emily Bear and singing phenom Journi on “The Magic Is Calling.” Da Fonseca’s pop music style, Bear’s soaring orchestrations and Journi’s magical vocal performance come together to create a song that is all at once nostalgic, inspirational and contemporary.
“It’s such a tremendous honor to write something that celebrates a place that brings so much joy to so many people,” said Da Fonseca. “There’s magic all around us, and when you’re there, you are feeling it at every turn.”
You can start hearing the anthem soon in a variety of ways, calling everyone to join the celebration. “The Magic Is Calling” will connect to all four parks, as different arrangements of the song will be heard when each Walt Disney World theme park icon transforms into a magnificent Beacon of Magic at night, beckoning all to come and celebrate. Cinderella Castle, Spaceship Earth, Hollywood Tower Hotel and the Tree of Life will each shine like never before and come to life on select nights with their own unique EARidescent glow.
Throughout the 50th Anniversary Celebration, “The Magic Is Calling” will also be included in special live entertainment moments across Walt Disney World Resort. You’ll hear the anthem during Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade, featuring the “EARidescent 8” each day at Magic Kingdom Park, and listen for custom arrangements of the song performed by everyone from the Main Street Philharmonic and Dapper Dans to the Discovery Island Drummers and Voices of Liberty.

‘Disney KiteTails’ Prepares to Take ‘The World’s Most Magical Celebration’ Sky High at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park
Beginning Oct. 1 as part of the Walt Disney World Resort 50th anniversary celebration, “Disney KiteTails” will take the magic of nature and Disney storytelling to new heights, immersing everyone in a gala performance of color and movement at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
It’s all set to happen several times daily at the Discovery River Theater, near DinoLand U.S.A. As you make your way into the space, you’re joined by a team of performers bringing with them a colorful collection of oversized props and kites adorned with Disney animal friends from “The Little Mermaid,” “a bug’s life” and “Finding Nemo.” Original, worldbeat arrangements of favorite Disney tunes fill the air, and the excitement builds toward the launch of an impressive show of kites over the lagoon.
Watercraft zoom into view, pulling with them dynamic kite trains and enormous, three-dimensional kites depicting familiar characters from “The Lion King” or “The Jungle Book.” From one performance to another, you may see Baloo the bear dancing in the sky or Zazu the red-billed hornbill chasing after Simba. These remarkable kites, some as large as 30 feet in length, are inflated by moving through the air, allowing characters like King Louie or Timon and Pumbaa to soar like never before!
First Sculptures in Disney Fab 50 Character Collection Unveiled at Magic Kingdom Park
Growing up, I can still remember the euphoric feeling while walking down Main Street, U.S.A. and seeing the beloved Partners Statue of Mickey Mouse and Walt Disney. This statue has become a beacon of inspiration and joy at the Magic Kingdom Park, just as the new Disney Fab 50 Character Collection of sculptures being installed for the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration will instill that same sense of wonder and excitement for guests.
Today, I am excited to announce that the first Disney Fab 50 sculptures are in their place to share in the festivities. You can now visit Magic Kingdom Park and find some of your favorite characters in their new home for the next 18 months of the celebration.
These 50 characters represent the stories that have moved us to dream bigger, follow our passions and believe in the power of magic. Disney Institute Offers a Sneak Peek at ‘50 Years of Magical Learnings from Walt Disney World Resort’
As Walt Disney once said, “When you’re curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.” And, as a Disney Parks Blog fan, you are definitely more curious than others about new Disney experiences! That’s why I’m excited to share with you a sneak peek at something you may have never done before—virtually venture behind the scenes to explore the business behind the magic.
Introducing 50 Years of Magical Learnings from Walt Disney World Resort, a new Disney Institute on-demand course created in honor of the Walt Disney World Resort 50th Anniversary Celebration. Join us online and learn a unique perspective on the historic transformation of 47 square miles of Florida wetlands into the world’s most magical vacation destination.
In this new Disney Institute online experience, you will choose your own learning adventure by navigating Walt Disney World Resort through an interactive map. As you hover over various locations on the map, exciting lessons will reveal themselves and let you take a “virtual” peek behind the scenes to enjoy compelling stories, engaging videos, interactive activities, and exclusive downloads.

Vault Collection-Inspired Shopping Experiences Coming Soon to Disney Springs and Magic Kingdom Park for Walt Disney World Resort 50th Anniversary Celebration
It’s hard to believe we are only 10 days away from kicking off “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” and Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary! Just like you, I’ve been following along for every single announcement and am so excited to celebrate and commemorate this once-in-a-lifetime milestone with all of our guests.
From working at the Emporium on Main Street U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom Park to writing about our new product lines here on the Disney Parks Blog, my career at Disney has led me to a variety of roles centered around merchandise. Supporting our incredibly talented team of cast members who bring the products and experiences to life in our retail locations has become one of my favorite aspects of my role.
Now as we get ready to set the stage for this 18-month long celebration, I’m so excited to share more of what’s to come that will enhance your 50th shopping experience within select merchandise locations. Recently we gave you a peek behind the magic of our Vault Collection (my favorite!) celebrating retro-themed treasures that are right out of The Walt Disney Archives. Today, I’m thrilled to share that our very own Marketplace Co-Op at Disney Springs will receive a special overlay inspired by the Vault Collection that will take you back to 1971 the moment you walk through the doors.
Get ready to be transported back to the 1970s with a nostalgic museum-like display that invites shoppers to learn about original Walt Disney World Resort attractions and resorts. Guests will have a unique opportunity to experience and engage in photo opportunities with vintage props including carousel horses from the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, replicas of the Orange Bird and the Tiki sculptures, as well as many more props and displays that tell stories from years past. (I’m already planning my Instagram photos!) I also love that in addition to the photo moments, the team has created engaging spaces where you can learn more about Walt Disney World Resort history, things like The Preview Center, original attractions, and even the opening year 1971 resorts.
Over at Magic Kingdom Park, you’ve probably already seen some of the EARidescent makeover at The Emporium, and soon the Main Street Cinema will receive a retro-inspired overlay themed to the Vault Collection. It will be filled with vintage photos, colors, and details including photo-worthy backdrops and props inspired by beloved attractions from Walt Disney World Resort history. The entire Merchandise Presentation Team has done such an incredible job taking elements from all of the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Merchandise collections and creating innovative and imaginative spaces for you to experience while you’re shopping for all your must-haves.
Guests will encounter these one-of-a-kind retail displays that elevate the 50th anniversary shopping experience at select locations across Walt Disney World Resort this fall. I can’t wait to see these spaces come to life in person and better yet start my shopping!

King Louis termine dans l’eau et Baloo dans les gradins… je n’aime pas du tout. Très loin du niveau de Animal Kingdom de l’immersion et de l’évasion proposé par le parc, j’ai plus l’impression d’une animation de plage en saison estivale. Sans compter le fait que je trouve ces… cerfs volants assez moche.
Pour le coup l’esthétique du spectacle dénote fort avec les musiques dans l’ensemble jolies avec les films choisis. Personnellement une animation dont je me passerai lors de mes visites (a moins en plus de fortement m’ennuyer pour vouloir rester assis un quart d’heure en plein soleil dans un amphithéâtre non adapté aux représentations en pleine journée par les chaleurs de Floride)
Avec tous les derniers ratages de Walt Disney World, cet ajout à Spaceship Earth fais plaisir, la technologie au service de la créativité. On pourrait très aisément croire que les premiers imagineers auraient utilisé cette technologie si elle avait existé pour sublimer ce globe iconique.
Le show des cerfs volants est quand même sympa je trouve même si de par sa nature je crains un énorme potentiel de foirage ça promet quelques bons fous rires involontaires !
Le nouvel éclairage de Spaceship Earth effectivement par contre rien à dire c'est parfait cette impression de toile lumineuse vivante :-)

Voyage à Walt Disney World en solo prévu du 6 au 21 septembre 2022 !
La compagnie aérienne Southwest Airlines qui a fêté son cinquantième anniversaire en juin dernier se joint aux célébrations du Walt Disney World Resort avec ce Boeing 737 arborant une livrée spéciale. La cabine de l'appareil reflète également les festivités qui débuteront demain pour une durée de dix-huit mois.
Symboliquement, l'avion de ligne immatriculé N954WN a réalisé son vol inaugural à destination de... l'aéroport International d'Orlando !

We have some exciting – you might say lofty – news to share. “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” honoring the past, present and future of Walt Disney World Resort on its 50th anniversary, is taking to the skies!
This afternoon, before media and special guests in Houston, Southwest Airlines unveiled a very special 737-700 — dramatically pixie-dusted, nose to tail, in colorful graphics commemorating the 50th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World Resort. Fanciful Disney accents also brighten the cabin space – down to the pulldown shades. Awesome, isn’t it?
Today’s surprise reveal at Hobby Airport filled the hangar with the joyful sounds of music and included Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in the EARidescent fashions they’ll wear throughout the 18-month celebration in Florida, beginning Oct. 1. Southwest also celebrates 50 years of flying in 2021, so this special aircraft is a double scoop of festive for two great brands.
To underscore the collaboration, the decorated plane flew its maiden flight to Orlando International Airport, where the arrival experience has been transformed with fantastical Walt Disney World Resort 50th anniversary celebration décor.
So now “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” extends to the land AND the sky. Let the celebration begin, and congrats to Southwest Airlines for 50 years.
